Alhaji Aminu Buhari, an Arewa Research and Development Project Consultant has stated that Adamawa State can generate up to N180 billion from cattle trading if the process is appropriately modernized and repositioned.
He said this while presenting his research findings in agribusiness in Yola to the State Government. He made specific mention of Genye, Ngurore, Song and Mubi and said if they were modernized, the state could bring in up to 180 billion naira in ten years.
Alhaji Aminu Buhari had been engaged by the Governor Ahmadu Fintiri administration to create an agribusiness blueprint. He pointed out that Adamawa is the second poorest state in Nigeria where Internal Generated Revenue is concerned.
“Adamawa is at a crossroads financially. Agribusiness is very important because in the near future, states depending on federal allocation will no longer meet their constitutional obligations,” he warned.
