Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong said his administration had purchased 400 tractors to distribute to farmers in the state in order to boost agriculture.

He spoke yesterday during a supervision visit to various ongoing work sites across Jos, the state capital, in preparation for the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari scheduled for Thursday, March 8, 2018.

He said agriculture is very central to the state as well as the federal government, noting that if there is the need for the state to have a supplementary budget in agriculture the state would not hesitate to do so.

Lalong said the state expects the president to also visit fish farmers, urging the people to come out and warmly welcome the president.
